Artificial Intelligence in Medicine research lines (AIM) of the
Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Calabria

Research

Artificial Intelligence ( AI) has been in development for decades and continues to evolve as technology progresses. In health care, AI can be used to improve the patient check-in process, make medical records more effective, track sickness, help diagnose, assist in surgical procedures and many more. This is what we aim to achieve at the Artificial Intelligence in Medicine research line of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Calabria.

Image Segmentation

We use Artificial intelligence to automatically identify meaningful anatomical structures

Data Augmentation

Synthesizing photo-realistic images is a challenging problem with many practical applications. Generative models represent a valuable tool for creating unseen medical images

Classification

Aritificial intelligence can be used to assist clinicians in their diagnosis. If correctly interpreted, these algorithms, can help to collect novel insight about pathologies and their progression
